About Moi

Avec Gimli’s axe at Edoras  My name is Lucy. According to one lecturer, I am ‘too pleased with my own cleverness’. I could set the story straight by suggesting that my ‘cleverness’ is actually a fatal mix of imagination and literary perfectionism, but that would be bollocks – I just love writing. Am usually to be found in the vicinity of RHUL and the joy that is Egham.

I should mention that I am almost-obsessed with the Romantics and the expression of Truth (with a capital T). Favourite writers are the Shelleys, Keats, Wordsworth, Blake, Coleridge, Wilde, Eliot, Tennyson, Wells, Tolkien, Woolf, come on, think of some who aren’t dead… Pullman, Kostova, Zafon, McKillip, Rowling, Gaiman & Pratchett (not one entity), Marillier, Hobb.

I am an atheist, probably an existentialist and a non-conformist, but don’t hold me to those tags; nothing about me is set in concrete. Perhaps because of the above, I am musically inclined to like Pink Floyd and John Lennon, but also the rest of the Beatles, Dire Straits, 10cc and other old blokes. I feel I am boring you with these lists, so here I shall end, until I remember something else which is permanent enough to broadcast. Oh and my sister calls me Kitty. 04/10/07
